Democracy: What Nature Teaches Us!

Story / Multimedia / Video
Julius Awafong has decided to embark on democracy and the voting process and he thinks that these days, we seem to forget the reason why we vote and instead of despising impediments to development like corruption, unemployment, insecurity, etc, we have decided to vote for people because we hate others. We have to set an objective while we vote, and we must understand that a VOTE is like a SEED that we sow to have more during harvest season.

Vote! Vote! Vote! What is the use of a vote?
I followed a report on TV this morning about Women’s Day in Ivory Coast and a woman, one of the protesters, made a statement that really touched me. A literal English translation of what she said is:
“we didn’t accept to go for elections to be killed. If we knew that our going for elections would turn out to be so, then we wouldn’t have voted”.
This reminds me the video above in which I said the right to vote is like the right to drink water, but if it’s a dirty water, don’t drink, because the aftermath will be cholera instead of good health. In order word, if voting is the aftermath of voting is violence and killing, then don’t go for it. Make sure your vote is powerful and pure enough to bring the kind of change you are voting for.
